Rich Leland has been an instructor with Walk Thru the Bible since 1983 and has taught hundreds of seminars
throughout the United States and around the world. When he's not leading seminars or training pastors
and teachers, Rich is serving in ministry as Senior Pastor at his church on Nantucket Island off the coasts of
Massaschusetts. He and his wife Linda are the parents of two daughters. Tami lives in New Hampshire
and is the mother of twins. Carrie is pursuing graduate studies in Vancouver, British Columbia. In
his spare time, Rich enjoys hiking, water-skiing, and swimming.

Dear Church Family:
Let's remember to keep praying for our Guam missions team over the next 10 or 12 days. Eric,
Bart, and Thom leave this Friday and will be working with the Rosses for the next week (two weeks in Eric's case).
Some of Mark's and my earlier letters about our upcming retreat (10 days and counting!) have focused on the fun,
frivolous, fellowship side of things. While that is intentionally part of the design for our weekend
together as a church family, we're also going there to Singing Hills to e spiritually fed and to be challenged
to grow in our walk with Christ. As you know, our theme this year is a "Walk Thru the Old Testament". During
the four main sessions our speaker, Rich Leland, will b e taking us through a highly interactive, memorable overview of
the whole Old Testament that will give us a framework and some key handles for understanding and responding to
all of its parts for the rest of our lives. Here's how that will map out during the course of the weekend:
Friday evening
Saturday morning
Saturday afternoon
Sunday morning
God Begins With People: Creation to the Flood
God Chooses His People: Abraham to the exodus
God Teaches His People: Conquest to United Kingdom
God Tests His People: Divided Kingdom to Exile/Return
I'm confident that you'll be both challenged and encouraged by this learning and growing experience as we
walk through it together. Once again this year there will be a book table for those who may want to
dig a little deeper in one aspect or another of the retreat's focus. We'll have a few copies of several
titles available for purchase, and also some free samples of some resources that Walk Thru the Bible publishes.
Even the jigsaw puzzles set up in the lounge will provide some interesting reinforcement of the theme!
I look forward to watching how the Lord uses our weekend to shape us for what He has in store for our
ongoing ministry together!
If you've already registered, I'll enclose some details with this letter (including
new, easier directions to Singing Hills), if you haven't, this Sunday is not too late!
Your fellow servant,
Cell phone coverage at Singing Hills is spotty. Most users can find reception somewhere on the grounds to make calls, but shouldn't rely on cells for receiving any expected calls. In an emergency, someone can get a message to you by calling Singing Hills at 469-3236, a phone that will be monitored by staff the whole time we're there.
