HAPPY NEW YEAR!
We pray this year will be one of deep contentment with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and an open hearted abandonment to loving and serving Him.
He will go with you and He will Bless you – that is an immutable promise. The Lord already knows absolutely everything that will happen to us in this coming year. We are his beloved children and He will only do us good in the coming year. May you not forget these promises in this new year and may we all recognize the good an all loving God is doing in our lives.
I was very encouraged with a New Years message that the example of Adoniram Judson (missionary to Burma) was given – "Missions was not just a hobby to him – it was a pursuit. Our relationship with God should have drive – it should have passion!" This brought to my mind (Mat 5:6) "Blessed are they who hunger and thirst after righteousness! For they shall be filled. And (Mat 6:33) "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added to you." It is difficult not to be an optimist when we realize the promises the Lord has given us to walk into.
Kathy & I are praying and looking for the opportunities to be the vessels the Lord may use to show Him, His love and grace to whomever He brings across our path through this new year and beyond.
Please pray for Ian and Tara. They are new neighbors of ours. They are both in the Coast Guard. Ian just returned the week before Christmas from a 4 month stint aboard ship through the Micronesian Islands. He is home for a few weeks. They are very outdoors oriented, so we are trying to put together a fairly extreme hike with them for the purpose of sharing our Saviour.
Also pray for a lady named Rusty. She is a divorced lady that works at a local vetrinarian clinic (where Crystal used to work when she was still here.) We (including Crystal) have in the past shared with her. She is very interested in talking with Kathy. Please pray for her salvation.
Kathy has been able to start sharing with a lady that works at one of the grocery stores that she frequently uses. Pray the Lord will bring this lady to Him.
Kathy is now in process of getting the guest house ready for two short term men who will be here on January 8 for 3 months. They will be working with our engineering staff to automate some of our transmitter operations.
I am in the process of the broadcast schedule preparation for our spring frequency period. There are a number of program changes that we are working through, and there are also atmospheric conditions changing that I need to calculate for. The new sunspot cycle 24 has shown its primary activity on the sun, and should take over the activity on the sun by May 2008.
Please pray for a very successful High Frequency Coordination Conference in which I am participating in Kuala Lumpur in February. Along with the frequency coordination, part of this conference will be some training in coordinating target zones for digital coverage.
There will be quite a lot of moving around of program, time, and languages in our next frequency period (the end of October 2008.) A lot of planning needs to take place for this. I am beginning to do some of this work, and it will be a priority especially after the HFCC in February.
I have spent quite a bit of time in the last month submitting material from the Asia broadcasters conference, and doing quite a bit of work on the progression to digital broadcasting. The face of international broadcasting is going through some changes.
Please pray for wisdom in our broadcast outreaches here in Asia as well as TWR worldwide
We are truly surrounded by unsurmountable opportunities – all a result of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Thank you for your prayers and support in our ministry here with TWR.
