Dear Co-Laborers,
On April 10-13 Trans World Radio Guam celebrated its 30th anniversary of proclaiming the Gospel of Christ to the Asia Pacific Region. President of Back to the Bible, Dr. Woodrow Kroll was a major participant in this celebration. (The actual anniversary was planned for November 2007, but several things caused the event to be postponed until April.)
Dr. Kroll had a real vision for sharing God's Word while with us. He began with a luncheon for
pastors and missionaries (about 60 people attending). He preached 6 times in 4 days, including an
interview at KTWG.
Saturday afternoon was a special commemoration at the KTWR transmitter site. Retired Mayor
Buck Cruz also gave a short speech. He was our village mayor during the first 23 years of our ministry.
The meetings with Dr. Kroll provided great opportunities to share God's Word to large groups of people
and to also become re-acquainted with existing (and new) ministries and churches on Guam.
A youth event at Marianas Baptist Church brought 250 teens from all around the island. We rejoice
in the great response they had to Dr. Kroll's message for them.
The focus of the 30th Anniversary was about God's faithfulness. The Lord has been faithful
at keeping His Word being proclaimed from Guam to the Asia Pacific Region. He has been faithful
at bringing people to a saving knowledge of the redemptive work of Jesus Christ from the different
countries that we target with our broadcasts. Many countries are closed to traditional missionaries.
Other countries are not so closed, but the Lord is faithful to bring His Word to all.
Less than two days after the celebration George flew to Singapore to prepare for the scheduling
for the next season's broadcasts. This is the initial step in the process that is finalized by the
HFCC meetings in August.
It has been a real blessing to have Jeff & Lance here for a 4 month short term. Along with
the planned work at the transmitter site, they also stepped right into helping with the work of the
30th anniversary meetings. They have been able to extend their mission service for one more month to
work at finalizing the automation project and work with some additional antenna field work.
"Dear Radio Station, being able to possess a radio receiver in such a poor country side like
ours is a great privilege. Our church consists of poor, elderly people and also people with poor eye
vision and illiteracy who on the other hand have become joyful and have grown in their spiritual life
thanks to listening to God's words. Now not like before all what I can see from their faces is the
happiness. In deed God's words are useful and vital for God's people in this local region. God's
words are declared as: "The crops are ripe but harvesters are in deficit." We ask the Lord of the
Harvesting season to send the harvesters into their fields. Please pray for us in declaration of the
Gospel by facilitating the TWR [programs]." - Vietnam
"Every day I play my radio loudly: one speaker in my store and the other in the employees'
room. To my amazement, many people were interested in your program, and even non-believers listened
attentively. I was glad that I could share the good news with people around me in such a small way."
