Trinity Bible Church and Casey Family Services in partnership with Group Workcamps brought 400 teenagers and adults to the Kearsarge region to improve the homes of local residents during the week of July 14 – 20, 2002. Fifty elderly, handicapped and/or low-income residents received free home repairs from these volunteers.
The Group Workcamps Foundation is a non-profit, interdenominational, Christian volunteer home repair organization headquartered in Loveland, Colorado. In the summer of 2002, an anticipated 18,000 young people and adults will participate in 50 group workcamps in communities across the United States and Canada.
Trinity Bible Church of South Sutton co-sponsored the Kearsarge Region Workcamp along with Casey Family Services of Concord. Ed Rennells of Newbury served as Chairman for the Workcamp's steering committee. The Workcamp brought in about 12,000 hours of volunteer labor – worth at least $80,000 to the community.
Repairs offered through the Workcamp include limited roofing, porch and wheelchair ramp construction, interior and exterior painting, weatherization and other work.
Sincerely,
Edward C. Rennells, Jr.
Chairman
