We have just confirmed our speaker for the annual Church Family Retreat this February, and in the process have moved the dates for the retreat ahead one weekend to February 8-10, 2013 in order to fit his schedule.
Dr. Walt Kaiser has taught the Old Testament for 50 years, most recently at Gordon-Conwell Seminary in Hamilton, MA, where he also served as president from 1997 until his "retirement" in 2006. He has published or contributed to around 50 books, and has written numerous articles in both scholarly journals and popular Christian magazines. Dr. Kaiser’s love of his Lord Jesus Christ, his knowledge of the whole biblical text, and a God-given gift of humor ("oy vey!") make Dr. Kaiser a sought-after evangelical speaker, and we're blessed to have him on our program for the retreat.
When Dr. Kaiser isn't traveling and speaking he can be found at his farm, Kerith, in Wisconsin. Having grown up on a farm in Pennsylvania, Walter loves the farm life. He is an avid gardener and enjoys spending free time on a tractor.
Registration for the retreat will open in January. We'll post details on the Event Page as the time approaches.
