The Samaritan’s Purse project Operation Christmas Child collects shoeboxes—filled with school supplies, hygiene items, fun toys and notes of encouragement—and delivers them to children in need around the world to demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way. The TBC 2016 Operation Christmas Child program will be continuing until Sunday, November 13. This year, we are going to offer several options for packing shoeboxes.
Option 1: Take one of the pre-printed shoe boxes available in the foyer and fill it with items. There is a brochure inside the box that will serve as a guide as to what can be in the box and items to avoid. (Avoid: chocolate, liquids and toys that depict violence). After filling the box, put in a check or cash for $7 in the envelope (found in the box) to cover shipping of the box. Considering writing a personal note or card and placing it in the box. Return the box to TBC by Nov. 13 and it will be delivered to the relay station.
Option 2: Adopt a box for $20: Place a check in the offering box with a memo that says “OCC Adopt a Box” and Gary/Laurie will shop for you and pack your box.
Option 3: Build a Shoebox Online ($25): Go to this link and create a box with Samaritan’s Purse.
Option 4: Write a check for any amount and place it in the offering box (write OCC Donation). All funds collected will be used to create as many boxes as possible.
Option 5: Take a shoebox and work with another family to fill the box.
