Hard and Beautiful

Dear Trinity family,

Helping my son get ready to begin his sophomore year of college reminds me of my own sophomore year when I was a fraternity pledge for about two weeks. The reason I left was because I wanted to help five of my friends start a chapter of a Christian fraternity and I couldn't be more glad that I did because at one of our parties a year later, I met Bree. It's amazing how a small decision can have such a massive impact.

One of the mottos of the frat that I left was, "Naught Without Labor," meaning if you don't have to work for it, it isn't worth having. It comes from some Greek words on the crest, except that those words don't mean that. Literally they read, "beautiful things are difficult."

Mainly because I have trash bags of clothes in my living room, I'm thinking about the fact that when our kids leave the nest, it's so hard but at the same time, it's beautiful. I still really miss when they were small enough to sit in my lap asking me to read the same little book for the 75th time, but they can't stay that way.

To every parent who has to let go a little bit more whether because the child is leaving the house, entering high school, entering middle school, entering school itself, getting their license, whatever, remember that while it's hard, it's also beautiful.

Some reminders:

  • No Membership Class This Week - Class #4 will be on August 30th @ 9:00AM
  • If you are interested in being baptized on September 6th, please let me or one of our elders know.
  • A meal train has been established for Phil & Donna Cole. If you'd like to sing up you can find it by clicking the "Connect" button at the bottom of the app and then clicking on "Caring Opportunities." You can also click here.
  • Pray for our Schools is on Sunday, August 30th @ 4:00. We meet at the church and disperse to our community's campuses.

Lastly, from Cyndi Bailey, our point person for Children's Ministries:

Almost all the CM volunteers spots are filled!!  Just a few opportunities left :-)

During Sunday School:
We need someone to help in the Preschool Classroom. No prep time, just assist the teacher. This position usually serves for about 4 weeks in a row and then has about 4 weeks off.

During Church:
We really need one more Pre-K teacher. There is very little prep required as we prepare the crafts for you!! One more person would allow everyone to serve just once every 6 weeks.
We could use 1 more person for Registration Table to allow each person to serve just once every 8 weeks.

After Church:
It would be really helpful to have more Trailblazer Coaches. All you need to do is listen to Brad's sermons and meet with a 3rd to 5th grader to ensure they understood key ideas. No need to follow a schedule, just let us know you are interested and then come to the front of the sanctuary after church each Sunday that you are available.

Please Note: If you are a new volunteer, please communicate with Cyndi Bailey (cyndi_bailey@comcast.net) or Rachel Hall (603-727-2717) first. There are a few steps we must complete before you add your name to the schedule.

May God bless everyone who has stepped up to serve the next generation in Jesus' name!!
