Christmas is GO

Dear Trinity family,

I know it's only November 5th. I know you're still rationing candy from All Hallo's Eve, and I know some of you are just now thinking about what you have to do for Thanksgiving, but if you need me to say it (and not all of you do), here it goes - you have permission to go FULL ON CHRISTMAS!!!

Why do I say this? One reason is that Thanksgiving decorations leave a little to be desired. If you want to put up an inflatable turkey, by all means, thou art loosed, but to me, that's about all there is and while brown and orange are ok colors for a football team, they don't inspire much festivity in me.

Christmas, on the other hand, Has. It. All.

The colors, the music, the lights, the peppermint everything. Some of you, your superpower is cookie construction, and I want you to see the Bat-signal. Let's go.

If out-of-the-norm holiday-ing isn't your thing, I totally understand. You're going to get a real tree and you can't have that thing sit in your living room for two months. I get it. You do you, but for those who feel like a horse in the gate waiting for the race to start, this is your time to run.

In my middle age, I've decided that one month isn't enough. I need more. I want it to last longer, so let's go. I don't care if it was almost 80 degrees yesterday. They celebrate Christmas in Florida and Arizona. Let's go.

In line with this, I want to make sure you are up to speed on what we have going on in November and December.

  • November 8th - youth group @ the church @ 4:00.
  • November 15th - Operation Christmas Joy shoeboxes are due @ the church.
  • November 21st - Advent Workshop & Pie Baking Competition @ 5:30 @ the church. This is a whole family event where we'll learn about making advent wreaths and one fortunate individual will get the satisfaction of being known as the Pie-Master (yes, I just made that up).
  • November 29th - The First Sunday of Advent - make sure you grab a copy of The Surprising Savior in the foyer. This is a daily devotional just for Advent that begins on the 29th.
  • December 6th - Lord's Supper Celebration & Chili Event following worship @ the church. Instead of celebrating communion during our worship service. We'll be doing so at the beginning of an all-church lunch. Please sign up on the app so we know how many tables to put out and note if you are able to bring a side or a topping.

Lastly, we are in need of basses and tenors for our Christmas Eve adult choir. If this is your range, we need your (something that rhymes with range). As Eli Hernick likes to say, "Sign up on the app."

God bless and we'll see you this Sunday when we'll be in 1 Samuel 13!

In Christ
Pastor Brad
