Upcoming business meeting

This is a notification to follow up on Sunday's announcement from the pulpit that we will have a formal vote on a slate of elders and deacons at the end of the service on July 5th by members of Trinity.  The process of engaging these folks starts up to a year prior.  Leadership at Trinity is an important function that is taken very seriously by the elders (which includes our pastor) who serve as the nominating committee.
We want to thank Bob Daily and Chris Hernick who have been serving as deacons and who will be cycling off leadership to focus on some other ministry opportunities as well as to get a breather.  Ultimately, a healthy church is one that does have a deep bench that allows leaders to cycle off or get relief knowing that there are others to step in the gap.  We have seen this demonstrated in a very real way with Jim and Doug filling in for Brad with preaching in recent weeks.  As an elder body we envision an increasing depth of leaders and some increased cycling on and off in the years ahead.

Candidates for upcoming vote:

Eldership (Spiritual leadership & oversight)
  • Jim Critchlow (current elder) for a 3 yr renewed term
  • Ken Huling (current elder) for a 3 yr renewed term
  • Bruce Wigton (current elder) for a 1 yr renewed term
  • Philip Sprunger (current elder) for a 1 yr renewed term
  • John Hall for a 2 year term

Deacon (Practical leadership; “ministers of mercy”)

  • Ryan Bogolin for a 1 year term
  • Josh Monroe for  a 1 year term
  • Bob Newkirk for a 1 year term

Below are bios for those who are new to the positions they are nominated for:
John Hall:
I was born and raised right here in the Granite State and have called Trinity my home since 2003.  My journey towards coming to Christ started at Sunshine Baptist Church in Newport, NH. I was introduced to the Bible by my parents at a young age and with the encouragement of them and my own desire to follow Christ I accepted the Lord in middle school and was baptized here at Trinity in 2005. Trinity is also where I met my wife Rachel and have a daughter, Madelyn. I have served as a deacon over the last several years and have been involved in other ministries Trinity has supported such as Group Work Camps.  In my free time, I enjoy playing golf, fishing, hunting, working on my home and garden.  Not many people know… that I have one career hole in one and it happened mere hours before my first date with Rachel (God knew it was going to be a very special day).

Josh Monroe:
Josh was raised in a Christian home in Cincinnati, Ohio, and has participated in church life since he was born. However, it wasn’t until late high school that a period of personal failure and suffering led him to own his faith and seek the Lord first in all things.

God has blessed Josh with his wonderful wife Emily, and through His blessing, they have been fruitful and multiplied. Together they have five children who teach Josh every day about God’s loyal love and patience. God has also given Josh opportunities to learn a set of skills so unusual that they only make sense when used to further His kingdom and bring Him glory. He has rebuilt his house, he sings, builds furniture, enjoys 3D printing, and has lots of experience changing diapers. His interests are broad and he can usually find something to connect over with anyone he meets, which has led to conversations about Jesus on airplanes, ski lifts, and mountain tops.

In 2013, Josh moved with his family to New Hampshire to follow an opportunity God opened for Emily’s engineering career. That same year they found Trinity and got involved. Josh’s first and longest lasting ministry role at Trinity has been as a part of the worship team, but he has also served on mission trips and a previous stint as deacon before having kids.

When Josh considers what it means to serve the church, he feels inadequate, and chief among sinners. However, Josh is confident that in his weakness, Christ’s power will be displayed. He serves a God that conquered death! He knows that Jesus will provide what he needs when he says yes to His call.

Bob Newkirk:
Bob began attending TBC with his wife and family in the mid 90’s, serving the Lord in various roles throughout the years.  Now retired from a career in the electrical industry, he enjoys many different outdoor activities – particularly those that include grandchildren!  They make everything a fun adventure, and love to help during maple sugaring season.

Ryan Bogolin:
I grew up in Pittsburgh, PA with a large extended family.  I attended Geneva College where I met my wife, Kellie. We lived outside Pittsburgh for 2 years before moving to Warner, NH at the start of Covid. We tried out TBC during this time and knew it would be a great community to be connected to as we began to start a family.  We have 2 daughters, Gabriella and Naomi.  I'm currently building our family home on our property in Bradford and work as a CAD designer supplying framing plans. I thoroughly enjoy hunting & shooting and love playing soccer, ice hockey and cheering on the Pittsburgh Penguins.  Something people may not know about me: my music preferences are generally at least as old as my parents.
