As an independent Bible church, we believe the Lord is our Chief Shepherd and the Bible is our ultimate authority. The following is our statement of faith and below that are some key distinctives when it comes to our fellowship.

1. We believe that the Bible is the inspired word of God, and that this inspiration extends to every word in each of the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments as originally written. We believe that God used the personalities and backgrounds of the individual human writers, but that it is His word not in part but in the whole. It is therefore without error in its original content and it is the supreme authority for the believer. (Mark 12:26; Acts 1:16; Romans 15:4; 2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21)

2. We believe that God is one God, existing eternally in three persons (the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit) and that these three have precisely the same nature, attributes and perfections, and are worthy of the same homage, confidence, and obedience. (Matthew 28:18-20; Mark 12:29; John 1:14; Acts 5:3-4; 2 Cor. 13:14; Hebrews 1:1-3)

3. We believe that Jesus Christ is God incarnate (in the flesh), who was conceived by the Holy Spirit and was born of a virgin, thereby becoming fully human and at the same time remaining truly God. We believe He lived a sinless life on earth and died a substitutionary death on the cross in order to redeem sinful man. We believe that on the third day God raised Jesus bodily from the dead, and that He now sits at the right hand of the Father in heaven. (Luke 1:30-35; John 1:1-18; 1:29; 3:16; 20:19-20; 2 Corinthians 5:14; Philippians 2:5-11; Hebrews 1:3; 4:15; 1 Peter 3:18)

4. We believe that salvation is a gift from God. We believe that because all people have sinned and therefore are deserving of God’s judgment, no one can in any way merit salvation through good works. We believe that by His grace God has provided the only way of salvation through the blood of Jesus Christ. We believe that the essential and only condition of salvation is faith in Jesus and His finished work on the cross, and that a person, having entered into salvation by faith, can have assurance of eternal life. (John 1:12; 3:5-18; 5:24; 10:28; Romans 5:6-9; 6:23; 2 Cor. 5:21; Ephesians 2:8-9; Jude 24)

5. We believe in the imminent, physical return of Jesus Christ. We believe He will come to receive His Bride, the Church, and that He will literally reign over the earth and bring judgment on unbelievers. (Ezekiel 37:24-28; Matthew 24-25; John 14:1-3; Romans 11:25-27; 1 Corinthians 15:51-52; Philippians 3:20; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18) We believe that those who are saved by grace through faith will consciously enjoy eternity in the Lord’s presence, and that those who have rejected His salvation will consciously suffer eternal punishment. (Luke 16:19-26; 23:42-43; 2 Corinthians 5:8; Philippians 1:23; 2 Thessalonians 1:7-9; Revelation 20:11-15)

6. We believe that the Lord’s Supper and water baptism are the only ordinances of Christ’s Church. We believe the Lord’s Supper, which is observed in remembrance of our Savior’s death, is symbolic of His body which was broken and His blood which was shed for us. (Luke 22:19-20; 1 Cor. 11:23-34) We believe baptism is symbolic of a believer’s identification with Christ and of his or her walk in newness of life. (Matthew 28:19; Acts 18:7-8; Romans 6:1-4) The mode of baptism practiced at Trinity Bible Church is immersion.

7. We believe that God is sovereign in the distribution of spiritual gifts to every believer, and that the gifts He provides are sufficient for the perfecting of the saints today (Acts 1:8; 2:1-14; Romans 12:4-8; 1 Corinthians 12:4-7; Ephesians 4:11-16) . While we acknowledge that God is certainly able to effect any miracles today, we believe that the sign gifts such as speaking in tongues were given primarily for the purpose of authenticating the apostolic message (cf. Hebrews 2:3-4; Acts 14:3; 2 Corinthians 12:12; Mark 16:20), and therefore that as the New Testament Scriptures were completed and their authority became established, those sign gifts gradually ceased.
